As an incredibly strong fiber, with natural anti-microbial properties and quadruple the absorbency of cotton, bamboo was made to be put into a gi (if you ask us). So we were incredibly excited when the Kingz Noboru Bamboo Gi surpassed all of our expectations.
Both the 550 GSM pearl weave jacket and 12 oz pants of the Kingz Noboru Bamboo kimono are made from a high-quality 60/40 bamboo/cotton fabric, which many claim to be far superior to the standard cotton. The material is incredibly strong and durable, yet has a natural sheen and is silky soft to the touch - perfect for those with skin sensitivities. As bamboo fiber is four times more absorbent than cotton, it has natural wicking properties that keeps you cool and dry by absorbing and evaporating sweat rapidly. Also, bamboo contains a naturally occurring anti-microbial agent, "kun", that prevents bacteria from cultivating on it, even when left in a backpack or trunk overnight.
The Kingz Noboru Bamboo also has a beautifully understated design, with high definition embroidery and distinctive "Bend Not Break" logos. Every detail was carefully considered, even down to the name "Noboru", a Japanese word that when translated into English encompasses the ideals of "virtue" and "ascension" - in other words, "to rise with nobility and dignity".
